I bought the truck thinking it only needed a fuel pump, I replaced the fuel pump and sending unit but it still didn't run so I replaced the ECM but still nothing, replaced the fuel pump relay, battery, ignition module checked all fuses still nothing. So I took a trip last night, about 4 hour trip and the car worked perfect. I put gas in last night before coming home. I went to work this morning, came to lunch, and went back from lunch. It wasn't until after work that I started the car and it idled REALLY low when I came to stops. Then, just as I got home, the car stalled. I waited a bit and then tried it and it started again, but still idled low. My uncle thought maybe the gas I had put in last night was bad and maybe had water in it. So I refueled and added some fuel injection. The car idles a bit better now, but I'm worried about a bigger issue now... NO lights have come on or anything. Dodge . 1995 Mazda 626 Won't IdleIf your 1995 Mazda 626 is idling roughly or stalls out while idling, there could be a variety of problems with your vehicle, ranging from belts to sensors to different components of the ignition system. Some of the fixes can be done on your own, even with little mechanical know-how, while other diagnostic and troubleshooting should be left to professional mechanics. Knowing how to check some of the more common problems can help to save time and money by doing the job yourself. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Floor jack Jack stands Socket wrench Screwdriver Mechanic's gloves Ruler Straight edge Zip ties Step by Step : 1 Insert a floor jack underneath the middle of the engine on your 1995 Mazda 626 and raise your vehicle. Insert jack stands underneath the reinforced frame slots under each of the front doors of the vehicle. Make sure that each of the four legs of the jack stands are level and the frame is resting evenly on the arms of the jack stands. 2 Crawl underneath the Mazda 626 and inspect the drive belts, which are on the passenger side of the engine. You may be able to see the belts from the top of the engine, however, in order to test the deflection and tightness of the belts, you will need to see them close up. 3 Hold a straight edge along the belt so that it is in line with the belt and pulleys. Use a ruler to measure the deflection of the belt from the straight edge. Belts that are 12 inches or less between pulleys should deflect no more than 1/4 inch. Belts between 12 and 14 inches should have a deflection measurement of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Adjust any belts that need tightening with a socket wrench on the belt tensioner bolt, which is located near each of the belts. 4 Check the air intake hoses and fixtures, which are located in the middle of the engine in front of the valve cover and bends to the right of valve cover on the 626. Feel around for any looseness in the connections between fittings and clamps, which can be tightened with a flat-head screwdriver. If any of the plastic screws for the air intake have worn out or disappeared, you may be able to use zip ties or a combination of tape and zip ties to hold the air intake together. If the air intake is not delivering air properly to the engine, then your engine will idle at higher RPMs (revolutions per minute) in order to bring in air for the ignition and cooling systems. Check all of the other hoses coming from your air intake and manifold for vacuum leaks, which are indicated by hissing noises. 5 Check the air filter, which is located in a black box between the battery and the valve cover. Unclip the fasteners on each side of the filter box and remove the filter. If it is dark and dusty, replace it. 6 Use an OBD II scanner to check for one or more sensors or valves that may not be working properly. The OBD II terminal on the 626 is located beneath the steering wheel behind the removable panel next to the driver's side door. Connect the scanner to the terminal and turn on the scanner. Turn the ignition key to the accessories position and wait a few minutes for the scanner to read the diagnostic codes from the ECU (engine control unit). Among the many sensors that are used in ignition and idling, you may have problems with your cam sensor, knock sensor, crank sensor, IAC (idle air control valve), air temperature intake or oxygen sensors. How to Install a 2000 Monte Carlo Ignition ModuleThe ignition control module and ignition coils in your 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo work as a single unit to control the voltage and the timing of the spark delivered to each of the pistons in the engine block. However, you can remove the coils to replace a failed ignition module without having to replace the whole assembly. Better yet, you can install the new ignition module in your garage with a few common tools right out of your toolbox in about an hour or less. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Masking tape Black marker Ratchet Short ratchet extension Socket set New ignition control moduleRemove the Ignition Module Step by Step : 1 Open the hood of your Monte Carlo. Follow the spark plug wires coming out of the engine towards the other end where they connect with the ignition coils. The ignition coils mount on the ignition module. 2 Number each spark plug wire and ignition coil with a piece of masking tape and a black marker so that you reinstall each wire and coil in its corresponding place on the new ignition module during the reassembly process. 3 Grab each spark plug wire by the boot that connects to the ignition coil and pull it off carefully with a twisting motion. 4 Unfasten the two bolts holding each of the three ignition coils to the ignition module using a ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. 5 Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition module. If you have a 3.8L engine model, unfasten the bolt holding the electrical connector to the ignition module first, using a ratchet and socket, before attempting to unplug it. 6 Unfasten the ignition module from the mounting bracket using a ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. Remove the module from the vehicle. Install the New Ignition Module Step by Step : 1 Place the new ignition module in position on the mounting bracket and install the mounting bolts finger tight. Tighten the bolts with the ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. 2 Plug in the ignition module electrical connector. If you have a 3.8L engine model, fasten the bolt to secure the electrical connector to the ignition module, using the ratchet and socket, after plugging in the connector. 3 Replace the three ignition coils and tighten the mounting bolts with the ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. 4 Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition coils. Make sure each spark plug wire snaps in place over the tower connectors on the ignition coils. 5 Close the hood.
